Project D

Digital Legacy
2025-08-26

In 2023, Project D came along. Project D is a heartfelt cultural initiative powered by DIGITISED. It was born from a deep respect for Egypt's rich heritage and a desire to keep its stories alive for future generations. More than just preservation, Project D creates a living digital space where history, art, and memory are carefully documented, shared, and honored.

But what makes Project D truly unique isn't just its use of technology; it's the reason it exists in the first place. For far too long, our history was told by others: invaders, foreign scholars, and filtered through headlines that were never written by us. They shaped how the world sees us and even how we see ourselves.

We believe it's finally time for Egyptians to take ownership of their own narrative. We've got the minds, the tools, and the heart to do it right. Project D is our voice, unfiltered, unapologetic, and deeply rooted in truth. We're reclaiming our history.

Through modern technologies and collaboration with those who care deeply about Egypt's identity, Project D makes the past accessible, the present meaningful, and the future more connected to its roots. That includes everything from cinema, music, poetry, and theater to traditions, rituals, and oral histories. Even Egypt's natural and modern heritage—its changing cities, dialects, and local scenes—has a place in the archive.

The platform welcomes partnerships with institutions, artists, scholars, and the public, working together to digitise and protect stories that define identity.

This project was born out of a painful truth: how much of Egypt's cultural legacy has already been lost. From the missing archives of legendary public figures to forgotten interviews, damaged film reels, misattributed work, and even neglected archaeological sites, we've let too much slip through the cracks.

Over the years, we've watched priceless pieces of our identity fade away, undocumented and unprotected, simply because we didn't realize their value in time. The team behind DIGITISED understands that memory fades unless someone takes the time to preserve it, frame by frame, word by word, sound by sound, and stone by stone.

Now is the time to act. Preserving our history is a duty, one that belongs to every Egyptian.

Through Project D, DIGITISED is preserving history in all its forms: cinema, music, poetry, literature, theater, public figures, traditions, and the everyday culture that shapes how we live. Our professional, knowledgeable team digs deep, collecting, restoring, and digitising rare materials: old tapes, newspaper clippings, behind-the-scenes footage, handwritten notes, personal archives, and anything that carries a piece of the past.

Along the way, the team uncovered powerful, often heartbreaking human stories of public figures who died before their work was ever properly archived, of films lost to time and neglect, and of songs that exist only in memory.

Project D is a responsibility. We are picking up the torch our ancestors handed to us. Our job is to protect the beauty, complexity, and wisdom of Egyptian civilization, not for nostalgia, but for survival. For pride. For legacy.

And a big part of that legacy is reaching our young people. We want to speak to the next generation in a voice they can trust—one that helps them look beyond the screens in front of them and reconnect with who they are. Because if they don't know where they come from, how will they know where to go?

This is about more than history; it's about identity. Egypt once held a leading place among nations, shaping science, art, language, and human thought. Through Project D, we aim to educate younger generations—locally and globally—about Egypt's true story, told by Egyptians with heart, truth, and pride.

Through Project D, DIGITISED is building not just a platform, but a living digital museum, one that speaks to the past, reflects the present, and shapes the future.
