Biography

Sohair Ramzi is an Egyptian actress whose full name is Sohair Mohamed Abdel Salam Nouh. She was born on March 3, 1950, in the city of Port Said.

Sohair Ramzi's artistic career began in childhood. Her first appearance in cinema was in the film "Sohbat Sawabeq" in 1956, when she was not yet six years old. Then she returned after 4 years to participate in the film "Girls and Summer".

In her early life, Sohair Ramzi worked as an air hostess and then as a fashion model. She returned to the artistic scene at the age of nineteen to play a variety of supporting roles and later leading roles.

She became famous as a seductive artist, starring in many daring films. Some of her notable cinematic works include:

"Miramar", "Chatter Above the Nile", "A Girl Named Mahmoud", "Forbidden on the Wedding Night", "Who Can Handle Aziza", "Children's World", "Where Do We Start the Story", "Execution of a High School Student", "A Man Who Lost His Mind", and "Tears of the Lady of Majesty".

In television drama, Sohair Ramzi appeared in numerous series such as: "One Thousand and One Nights", "My Ladies, My Women", "Beloved of the Soul", and "Palace of Lovers".

In addition to acting, Sohair Ramzi also sang in some of her films such as "Who Can Handle Aziza" and "Struggle of Lovers".

In 1993, Sohair Ramzi wore the hijab and retired from the entertainment industry. However, she decided to return to acting wearing her hijab in the television series "Beloved of the Soul" in 2006. She surprised her audience in 2019 by deciding to remove her hijab after wearing it for over 25 years.

Sohair Ramzi starred in 3 films listed in the top 100 Egyptian films of all time according to critics' polls. These films are: "Miramar", "Chatter Above the Nile", and "The Culprits".

Personal Life

The artist Sohair Ramzi is the daughter of the artist Doria Ahmed. Sohair Ramzi became known for her multiple marriages, which reached 12 times. Her first marriage was to the artist Ibrahim Khan, whom she married for one year.

After divorcing him, she married the Saudi prince Khalid bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with whom she also stayed for one year.

She then separated from him to marry Hajj Sayed Metwally, the president of the Al-Masry Club in Port Said, then the Gulf businessman Mohamed El Malla, with whom she lived for only 5 months.

After that, she married the composer Helmy Bakr, which ended after 4 years due to her insistence on working in acting. She then married the artist Mahmoud Qabil, and after her separation from him, she married the Syrian businessman Zakaria Bakkar.

She then reconnected with Sayed Metwally, the president of the Al-Masry Club in Port Said, whom she married and separated from 3 times. She then married for the 11th time the artist Farouk Al-Fishawy after his separation from his wife, the artist Samia Al-Alfi. Her twelfth and final marriage, to date, was to the Egyptian businessman Alaa El Sherbiny.
