Biography

 

Actress and Entertainer: Full name Sherihan Ahmed Abdel Fattah Al-Shalqani. Born on December 6, 1964, in Cairo. She studied expressive dance in her childhood in Paris, France.

 

Sherihan started her artistic career at the age of six, participating in films such as "Half a Dozen Villains" and "Cat on Fire."

 

She later appeared in more notable films like "Raya and Sakina," "The Virgin and the White Hair," "Who Among Us is the Thief," "Watch Out for Your Mind," "Crystal," "The Women’s Market," and "The Sweat of the Palm."

 

On television, Sherihan became famous for her spectacular riddle shows, including "One Thousand and One Nights," "Around the World," and "Needs and Wants." She also starred in several drama series such as "Report to the Attorney General," "My Blood, Tears, and Smile," and "Fire and Smoke."

 

Sherihan's theater performances are significant landmarks in Egyptian art history. Notable plays include "Lock the Girls Away," "The Shaky," "For Your Eyes," and "Mohamed Ali Street."

 

Sherihan starred in one film listed among the top 100 films in Egyptian cinema history: "The Collar and the Bracelet."

 

In 1989, Sherihan was involved in a horrific car accident, resulting in severe injuries and spinal fractures. She took a break from work, traveling to France for numerous surgeries—30 operations and 40 screws in her spine.

 

She returned to the stage in the early 1990s but was diagnosed with salivary gland cancer in 2002, one of the rarest and most dangerous cancers. She went to France again for treatment, undergoing a major surgery on the right side of her face to remove the tumor.

 

Personal Life

 

Sherihan is the half-sister of the late guitarist Omar Khorshid. She married twice, first to businessman Allal Al-Fassi and then to Jordanian businessman Alaa Al-Khawaja, with whom she has two daughters, "Luluwa" and "Talia Al-Quran."
