Sabry Fawaz
The biography
Egyptian actor, author, and theater director born on November 22, 1968, in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. He studied theater at the Faculty of Arts at Alexandria University, graduating in 1987, and then joining the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts.
He began his artistic career in 1990 when he was still in the first year of the Institute of Dramatic Arts when director Ismail Abdel Hafez chose him to participate in his first television work, which was the series “Al-Wasiya.
” After that, he presented many series, most notably: “Layali al-Hilmiyya,” “My Aunt Safiya and the Deir,” “A Woman from the Time of Love,” “Umm Kulthum,” “Pain of longing” “The Western Land,” “A Matter of Principle,” “The Devil’s Gardens,” “Critical Moments,” “Public Secret,” “Friendly Fire,” “Pharaoh.”,
The Seven Commandments, Between Al-Sarayat, Afrah Al-Qubba, The Black Horse, Abu Omar Al-Masry, The Kingdom of Satan, A Family Registrar, Except Me, Take Care of Zizi, The Choice, We Will Return, Love.”
As for cinema, he played various roles in films such as: “Mabrouk and Bulbul, Sadat Days, Blood of the Dear, Halim, Dokan Shehata, Talk to Me Thank You, Palm of the Moon, Lion Heart, Mawlana, Letter to Arrest, Ali Baba, and Mousa.”
In addition to acting, Sabri Fawaz wrote and directed many plays, the most important of which are: “We Will Say Again, Isis, Echo of Echoes, Layali Al-Husseiniyah, The One Who Is Afraid Should Go, The Rabbit Farm, Come to Nahm, Yassin and Bahia, The Bride of the South, Al-Maddad, and Night, O Ain.”
In addition to directing 10 short plays for Egyptian television, inspired by the stories of “Kalila and Dimna.”
Sabry Fawaz was chosen as a member of the Supreme Committee of the Luxor African Film Festival 2023.
personal life
Artist Sabry Fawaz has been married since 1997 to a woman from outside the artistic community named “Azza Moussa”. She is a university professor whom he met while studying at the Faculty of Arts at Alexandria University.
In 2001, the couple gave birth to their first child, called “Marwan.” In 2009, they had their daughter, Saba.
