The biography
An Egyptian broadcaster and actress, her full name is Naglaa Mahmoud Badr Saleh. Born on October 6, 1974, in Cairo Governorate. Graduated from the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University in 1996.
She began her artistic career as a child, when her mother, who worked as a fashion designer for Egyptian Television, nominated her to participate in the “The Matchmaker” Riddles by artist Nelly in 1981. In 1983, she appeared in the “Fatouta” Riddles with the artist Samir Ghanem.
Her real breakthrough in the field of acting came in 1990 when she participated in the second part of the series “People and People.”
A year later, she participated in the “Al-Nawa” series, and then began presenting many television series, including: “Zahra and Her Five Husbands,” “Ostriches Feathers,” “Abdulaziz Street,” “A Third Party,” “The Story of a Life,” “Without Mentioning Names,” “The Second Wife,” “Above the Level of Suspicion,” “Able Women.” My share and yours, Ramadan Kareem, 30 days, handcuffs, pearl, bully, prince, except me, the descendants of strangers, every week a story.”
Naglaa Badr continued her artistic career through her participation in some cinematic films such as: “My Grandpa, My Love,” “Unusual Abilities,” “Today is a Beautiful Day,” “The Court,” “Feast Night,” “An Answer Hour,” and “The Atheist.”
When Naglaa Badr was in her third year at the Faculty of Mass Communications, specifically in 1993, director Wael Fahmy Abdel Hamid offered her to present the program “What Viewers Ask for” on the ART Variety Channel. In 1994, while she was visiting her mother in the Sultanate of Oman Television building, they offered her to present a program called “The Afternoon Meeting,” and after that, a competition program called “9x9.”
When she finished her university studies in 1996, the journalist Amr El-Laithi, who was the director of the MBC channel office in Cairo, asked her to present the program “We Choose for You” for two consecutive years. She then returned to Egypt to present the “Variety” program on the Nile Variety Channel for two years until 2000.
Then she returned to Egypt and presented the program “Your Career Matters” with the Orbit International Network. After that, the journalist Nashwa Al-Ruwaini offered her to present the program “Horouf and Aluf” on MBC. She continued to present many programs with the same channel, including: “Fear Challenge, Action, Fear Factor, Al Khazna Live, and Scoop,” in the period from 2002 to 2005.
After that, Naglaa Badr stopped presenting television programs for a while, returning in 2010 with the program “soirée” on Egyptian television, then the Arabic version of the famous program “The Money Drop” entitled “You and the Million” on Al-Mehwar Channel. She returned to MBC in 2015 to present the Arabic version of the famous competition show “Cash Or Splash”.
In 1993, she participated as a model in a video clip for the song “Your Eyes Take Me” by singer Tarek Fouad. And the song “Main Qadoh” by singer Ihab Tawfik.
Naglaa Badr was a member of the founding committee of the Cairo Drama Festival in 2022. She was also chosen as a jury member in many festivals, including the Alexandria Short Film Festival 2022, and the Aswan International Women’s Film Festival 2023.

Naglaa Badr is the daughter of fashion designer Karima Saad. She married businessman Muhammad Afifi in 2016, and she does not have any children yet.
