
Nadia El Gendy
The Biography
An Egyptian actress, born on March 24, 1946, in Alexandria. Her full name is Nadia Mohamed Abdel Salam El Gendy, and she is famous for her nickname “The Star of the Masses” (Najmet Al-Jamaher).
Nadia El Gendy won the Miss Alexandria Award, organized by “Al Jeel Magazine” in 1958 when she was only fifteen years old.
She began her artistic career with a small role in the movie “Jamila” in 1959. After that, she participated in slightly larger roles in films, such as “The Traitor, Too Young for Love, My Wife is Crazy, Crazy.” In 1974, she played her first movie starring in the movie “Bamba Kashar,” followed by more. Among the films through which she achieved widespread stardom, including: “Al-Batniyah”, “Wekalet Al-Balah”, “Khamsa Bab”, “The Power of a Woman”, “A Mission in Tel Aviv”, “Hikmat Fahmy”, “A Woman Who Shook the Throne of Egypt”, and “48 Hours in Israel”.
Nadia Al-Jundi performed some songs and performances in many of her films, such as: “Bono Bono, Khamsa Bab, Alam and Aalama, Wadad Al-Ghaziyeh, Al-Batniyya, Yasmine Nights, Shawq, and Bamba Kashar.”
Nadia Al-Jundi went through the production experience through the films “Shouq” in 1976, and “Yasmine Nights” in 1978.
Personal life
Nadia El Gendy was married twice, the first in 1961 to the artist Imad Hamdy, with whom she gave birth to her only son, Hisham. Their marriage lasted 13 years, then she separated from him in 1974. The second marriage was to film producer Mohamed Mukhtar, whom she married in 1978. The couple separated in 1995, and their marriage did not produce any children.
