Martyrdom operations and burning the Israeli flag... Palestine in the eyes of Egyptian cinema
Just as Egyptian cinema has been concerned with the issues of the Egyptian citizen, it has also been concerned with the issues of the Arab world, and at the forefront of this is the Arab-Israeli conflict, especially the Palestinian cause. Palestine has always been a target of the colonial armies, starting with the Crusades and ending with the Israeli occupation.
For this reason, the makers of Egyptian cinema have been keen to support their Palestinian brothers, by raising their issue and discussing some important figures in the history of the Palestinian struggle. In addition to portraying the suffering of the people by highlighting the demonstrations and suicide operations in which they participate. In addition to expressing the feelings of the Egyptian citizen towards the Palestinian cause by burning the Israeli flag.
This came through a number of cinematic films that will remain etched in the conscience of every Egyptian and Arab citizen who sympathized with the Palestinian cause against the Israeli occupation army, and here are some of these films:
- The Girl from Palestine (1948)
This film is considered the first Egyptian and Arab film to address the Palestinian cause in conjunction with the War of Palestine.
