an Egyptian actress, born on August 24, 1957, in Cairo Governorate. She earned a Bachelor's degree in English Language from the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University, and after graduating, she worked in the field of public relations.

 

Athar El Hakim began her artistic career when she was discovered by the artist Samir Ghanem, who recommended her to the producer Riad El Arabi, who assigned her the leading role in the series "Without Rebuke" in 1976.

 

She continued to excel in presenting dramatic roles that left an unforgettable mark, including: "Dear Sons.. Thank You," "Nights of Helmeya," "Farewell Spring of Life," "One Thousand and One Nights," "Taming the Shrew," "Zizinia," "We Do Not Sow Thorns," "Love After Deliberation."

Her first cinematic roles were in the film "The Cursed" in 1979. She then starred in a number of distinguished films, such as: "Strange Brothers," "I Don't Lie But I Talk," "The Poor Don't Enter Heaven," "Love Above the Pyramid Plateau," "The Tiger and the Female," "Paper Hero," "The Troublemakers and the Captain," "Amber and Colors."

 

Athar El Hakim participated in one film listed among the top 100 films in the memory of Egyptian cinema, which is the film "Love Above the Pyramid Plateau."

 

Athar Hakim was selected as a jury member for the Association of Film Festival in 2013 and the Tayyiba Short Film Festival in 2014.

 

Personal Life

 

Actress Athar El Hakim married for the first time in 1987 to Mahmoud Magdi Gouda and they had three children: "Amr," "Ali," and "Abdel Rahman." However, they divorced in March 1999, after more than 10 years of marriage. She then married for the second time in 2006 to the media figure Yasser Kamal Khalil.
