The Biography

 

An Egyptian actor and director, his full name is Ahmed Magdy Ahmed Ali, born on May 4, 1986, to an Egyptian father and an Algerian mother.

 

He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University.

 

He joined the film school with the Scientific and Cultural Renaissance Society (Cairo Jesuit) in 2007.

 

Ahmed Magdy is known for his proficiency in playing music in addition to singing. In addition to achieving many achievements at the national level in rowing. He also became a yoga teacher several years ago,

 

after spending several months in India studying yoga with specialized teachers. He constantly participates in campaigns to raise awareness of the environmental issue, such as the “Enough Plastic” campaign.

 

He began his artistic career during his university studies, by joining the “Al-Tami” theater group, where he worked as an actor and assistant director for 3 years before directing his first film, which was the short independent documentary “Flood Stream” in 2007. Then he joined the “Self and the City” workshop, which saw him directing it.

 

For his documentary film “Zizou” in 2007, he then directed the films “Cake with Cream”, “To the Sea” and “Zizou”. Then he directed his first feature film, “Nobody There,” in 2018.

 

As an actor, he began his artistic career in 2008, through his appearance in a large number of works, whether cinematic or television, including films such as: “Birds of the Nile, Microphone, Nawara, Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim, Mawlana, Curfew, Happened on 2 Talaat Harb.”

 

In television drama, he participated in the series: “A Public Secret,” “Napoleon and the Mahrousa,” “The Preacher,” “The Covenant,” “Houses are Secrets,” “My Share and Your Divide,” part 2, “Sunset Oasis,” for the highest price, “Don’t Turn Out the Sun,” “The Stone of Hell,” family size, “Miss Farah,” part 4, “ Maadi House,” Satan’s promise, the journey, the three, the clear statement.”

 

He was chosen as a European Union Goodwill Ambassador in the field of water in 2022. He was also chosen as a member of the jury of several festivals, including Abu Dhabi International Film Festival 2012, Aswan International Women’s Film Festival 2021, Cairo International Film Festival 2022, Luxor African Film Festival 2023. ".



Personal Life

 

Artist Ahmed Magdy is the son of writer and director Magdy Ahmed Ali. In 2018, he married a girl from outside the artistic community named Noha Khattab, but he separated from her in 2020.
