She began her artistic career as a television presenter, where she presented a program called “Cinema and Summer.” Until director Ali Abdel Khaleq encouraged her to participate in the movie “Survivors of Fire” in 1994, which was the beginning of her artistic breakthrough, after that, she participated in many films, including “The Hero,” “The Disappearance of Jaafar Al-Masry,” “Shujai’ Al-Sima,” “Falah fi Al-Congress,” “Nour Ainy,” “Ahasees,” “The Midnight Party,” “Those Who Were Afraid Died,” and “Talaat Harb 2.”

 

She also starred in television dramas in various roles, including her roles in the series “Who Doesn’t Love Fatima,” “My Blood, My Tears, and My Smile,” “Hwanam Garden City,” “One Thousand and One Nights,” “Fleeing from Love,” “The Group,” “A Woman in Trouble,” “Kingdom of the Mountain,” “The Family House,” and “With Persistence, the door to creation, the enemy brothers, the mood of goodness, the mother Pasha, words on paper, the first lady, capable women, the flood, the house of the inlaws, the spiritual father, my share and your portion, betrayal of a covenant, Uturn, the return of the prodigal father, Jamila.”

 

In 2002, Abeer Sabry retired from acting for three years, during which she wore the hijab and presented religious programs, including the “Color of Your Life” program on the Iqraa satellite channel, and the “We Love Life” program on the Al-Resala channel. Then she took off the hijab and returned to acting in cinema and television again.

 

Abeer Sabry was selected as a member of the jury of the 2012 Salé International Women’s Film Festival, the 2012 Muscat International Film Festival, and the 2019 Sharm El Sheikh Asian Film Festival.



Personal life

Actress Abeer Sabry is the sister of journalist Marwa Sabry. She was married twice, her first marriage was in 2002, and at that time she announced her retirement from acting and wore the hijab, and their marriage lasted only three years. In 2005, Abeer Sabry separated from her first husband and returned to art. The same year witnessed her marriage for the second time to the Palestinian lawyer Ayman Al-Bayaa, who works as a professor of international law at the Egyptian Consulate in Dubai.
