An Egyptian artist whose full name is Mervat Mohamed Mostafa Amin. Born on November 24, 1948 in Minya Governorate, to an Egyptian father who works as a pediatrician and a Scottish mother who works as a journalist. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English from Ain Shams University.

She started her artistic career through the university's acting team, where she participated in the play "Ya Tale'a al-Shajara" by Tawfiq al-Hakim. After graduation, she became a professional actress and presented the play "Love Airport" with the artist Abdel Moneim Madbouly.

Her cinematic debut came in 1968, when the artist Ahmed Mazhar discovered her, and chose her to participate with him in the movie "Nufous Ha'irah". Her artistic breakthrough towards fame and stardom came when director Hussein Kamal chose her in 1969 to stand in front of the brown nightingale Abdel Halim Hafez in the famous movie "My Father is Above the Tree".

After him, a group of the most famous films in Egyptian cinema were presented, including: “Gossip over the Nile, A Nose and Three Eyes, Searching for a Scandal, The School of Rioters, The Enemy Brothers, The Grandson, Barefoot on the Golden Bridge, Some Go to the Authorized Twice, Bus Drivers, Forgery of Official Papers, The Wife of an Important Man, The Days of Sadat, Morgan Ahmed Morgan.
