Dancer and politician

The film discussed the story of the life of dancer “Sonia Slim” since she was a poor orphan girl, her miserable life with her addicted husband, and her turn to dancing until she became a famous dancer and movie star. The film dealt with her relationship with senior politicians, including a senior official named “Khaled Madkour,” only to discover after many years that he had become a well-known minister whose real name was “Abdul Hamid Raafat.” Sonia begins writing her memoirs, which terrifies the officials who were in contact with her. The minister intervenes to force her to stop writing for fear of being exposed.

The film stars Nabila Obeid, Salah Kabil, and Mustafa Metwally. It is taken from a true story, and although the makers were keen not to address the character of the real minister, some sources have revealed that Habib Al-Adly, the former Minister of Interior, is the intended person.

The third man

The film touched on the story of Major Pilot Kamal Sharif Hassan, who was dismissed from the Egyptian Armed Forces after committing a serious mistake that caused the death of his colleague during the October 1973 War. This caused his psychological collapse, especially after his disputes increased with his wife, who left him and asked for a divorce. “Kamal” joins a helicopter aviation company that serves oil companies. Kamal's life turns around when he meets businessman Rustom Al-Sharqawi, who asks him to help him smuggle drugs using the plane he works on. But Kamal informs the police, who agree with him to go along with him. Indeed, the police are able to seize the drugs, and the businessman and his gang members are arrested.

The film stars Ahmed Zaki, Mahmoud Hamida, and Laila Elwi. It is based on the true story of a heroin trafficking ring, which devised an unusual way to smuggle their goods by air, to avoid customs inspections and Coast Guard attacks.

Woman and cleaver

In the film, we follow the story of a widow named “Souad Qasim” who meets “Mahmoud Alwan,” who claims to be the director of the Prime Minister’s Office. She falls in love with him and marries him, until the other side of him is revealed. It becomes clear to her that he is a fraud after he seized her money and jewelry and sold her apartment. He is also gay and sadistic in his sexual practices. However, she continues to live with him in the hope of getting back what he stole from her. “Mahmoud” becomes pursued by the police because of the fraud he committed, so he hides with his wife and her teenage daughter, “Madiha.” He sexually assaults the girl, and Souad drugs him, kills him, and dismembers his body with a cleaver. To be arrested and put on trial. While the lawyers who were pursuing “Mahmoud” on behalf of his victims rushed to defend her for free, and yet the court ruled to imprison her for 15 years.

The film stars Nabila Obaid, Abu Bakr Ezzat, and Majed Al-Masry. It is based on a true story that took place in Alexandria in 1989, and sparked great controversy in the Egyptian street at the time.

His Excellency

The film follows the story of Raafat Rostom, who is chosen to be a minister by mistake, due to the similarity of his name to another person. He succeeds in remaining in his position for a long time. Being a corrupt person, he profited from his job illegally, smuggled his money abroad, and had sexual relations with many women. The punishment for his actions came to him in the form of hideous nightmares, which he could not get rid of. “Attiya,” his office manager, suggests that he visit a psychiatrist. Raafat fears that his situation will be exposed, and he asks “Attiya” to go instead of him, and he is forced to reveal his secrets to him, but “Attiya” himself turns into a new nightmare.

The film stars Ahmed Zaki, Yousra, Lebleba, and Hisham Abdel Hamid. It is based on a true story that occurred during the era of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. One of his governments chose a minister by mistake. This minister remained in his position until the January Revolution, and was known as the “Minister of Coincidence.” Dr. Jaber Asfour, the former Minister of Culture, stated that the story’s true hero is Dr. Hani Hilal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Ahmed Nazif’s government.

Tito

The film tells the story of “Taher Abdel-Hay Suleiman,” or “Tito,” who is a street child and has been engaged in stealing since his childhood, which led to him entering the correctional facility. After he left, he worked for a person who assumed the name “Ramzi” while he was a corrupt police officer called “Rifat Al-Sukari.” After making a huge fortune, Tito decides to start a new life away from crime and theft. “Ramzi” returns to ask “Tito” for a final operation in order to get rid of a rival officer who wants to trap him, but “Tito” refuses to join him, so the corrupt policeman decides to ruin his life in all possible ways, and he even plots a cunning trick to kill him, for fear that his matter will be exposed.

The film stars Ahmed El Sakka, Amr Waked, Khaled Saleh, and Hanan Turk. It is taken from true stories presented by journalist Mufid Fawzi on the “Hadith Al-Madina” program.

Al Jazeera

The most recent film revolved around “Mansour Al-Hafni,” who becomes the chief of the island, succeeding his father, “Ali Al-Hafni,” and takes over the drug trade after him, which causes enmity between the island’s largest families. “Mansour” agrees with police officer “Rushdi” to hand over the terrorists hiding on the island, and in return, he facilitates the sale of drugs and weapons. Until “Mansour” participates in a major arms deal and declares his control over the island, he is arrested after the Interior Ministry sent a new officer called “Tariq,” who could not agree with “Mansour.”

The film stars Ahmed El-Sakka, Hend Sabry, Mahmoud Abdel-Mughni, and Khaled El-Sawy. It is taken from a true story whose hero is “Ezzat Hanafi,” who helped the government eliminate terrorists, and exploited his relationship with the government in the drug trade, where he and his gang seized 280 acres on Nakheila Island in Assiut Governorate, and planted it with drugs, until he was arrested in 2004. He was executed in 2006.

The serial killer

The film dealt with the story of “Murad,” a young man from a very wealthy aristocratic family, but a broken family. Therefore, Murad feels lonely and neglected, and finds that the only solution to draw his family’s attention to him is to disobey their orders and commit crimes that started small but increased in strength and violence.
