The artist Amr Diab took it upon himself to advance the Arabic song, achieving the difficult equation and creating a special place for himself in the world of music over the course of nearly 40 years of continuous work, which reaped its fruits by becoming the first Arab singer to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.
During his long artistic career, Amr Diab was keen to participate in many cinematic and dramatic works, to be among his artistic credits. But because singing was his first and last goal, he decided to leave acting in 1993 and devoted himself to songs and music since that time.

Fawazir One Thousand and One Nights
The star Sherihan played a major role in Amr Diab’s entry into the field of acting, as she was excited about him and decided to include him in her team in her famous fawazir “One Thousand and One Nights,” written by Taher Abu Fasha, and directed by Fahmy Abdel Hamid. They participated together in presenting artistic sketches that combined singing and show dancing. The number of episodes in which Sherihan sought the help of Amr Diab was 5 over the course of the 1985 and 1986 seasons, which are: “The Psychiatrist,” “The Mawlid Bride,” “Read the News,” “The Absent One’s Witness with Him,” and “The Astrologers Lied Even If They Believed.”

The series “Nabi’ al-Nahr”, in which Amr Diab participated in 1986, was his first dramatic experience. In 1987, Amr Diab presented the series “Sorry, There is No Solution,” where he played the character of “Mahmoud,” the son of the artist Salah Al-Saadani and the artist Safaa El-Sabaa, who discovered that his father was married to another woman and had 3 other children. The series was written by Helmy Salem and directed by Adel Sadiq. Amr Diab then released a song album with the same title, which included a collection of the songs he performed during the episodes of the series.
The Two Prisoners movie
Amr Diab appeared for the first time on the cinema screen in 1988 through the movie “The Two Prisoners” with the actress Elham Shaheen and the artist Samah Anwar, written by Raja Youssef, and directed by Ahmed Al-Nahhas. In the film, Amr Diab played the role of “Ali,” a singer in a nightclub who marries the poor girl, “Zeinab,” and forces her to dance. After she suffers from pneumonia, he abandons her and searches for someone else.
Goblins movie
The most important cinematic work in which Amr Diab participated was in 1990, which is the movie “The Goblins” with the artist Madiha Kamel, written by Magda Khairallah, and directed by Hossam El Din Mostafa. The film dealt with the issue of street children, and Amr Diab appeared during the events of the film in his true personality, as he rescues the little girl “Baliyah,” who is being exploited by the “Al-Kataa” gang in criminal acts such as theft and drug distribution. During the events of the film, Amr Diab performed a group of songs, including songs from previous albums, “Shouqna” and “Mayal.”
Ice Cream in Gleam movie
Amr Diab's most famous film is “Ice Cream in Gleem,” which he presented in 1992, with the artist Simone, the artist Ashraf Abdel Baqi, and the artist Hussein Al-Imam. The film was written by Medhat El Adl and directed by Khairy Bishara. It dealt with the story of Saif, an obscure young singer who seeks to prove his talent in singing. He travels from Alexandria to Cairo in search of an opportunity to realize his dream. He and his friends, the poet “Nour” and the composer “Zaryab,” compose youth songs, and “Saif” sings them with his band members in the streets, public parks, and on the seashore, achieving great success. Amr Diab then released a song album that included the songs he performed in the movie that bore the same name.
A film of laughter, play, hard work and love
The last cinematic work that Amr Diab presented was in 1993, which was the movie “Laughter, Play, Find and Love” opposite the artist Omar Sharif and the artist Yousra, written and directed by Tariq Al-Tilmisani. During which he played the role of the young playboy “Adham,” who fails in his studies and meets a night girl and decides to marry her. He enters into disputes with his wealthy father, who rejects their marriage and tries to keep him away from her.
