Story

The grain trader "Hamdi" lives with his two sons "Mahmoud" and "Hussein" and his niece "Wafaa". The father differentiates between his two sons, on the grounds that "Hussein" is not a half-brother to "Mahmoud" and that his mother had a disgraceful past. On one of Hussein's tours, he discovers that his mother, Samiha, is none other than Fawzia Rushdi, the dancer, so he goes to meet his mother, who denies him at first. A fire breaks out in his father's mill, and Hussein turns to his dancing mother for money in order to pay off some of the mill's debts.
